Accountant, Vendor Invoice Management, for Global Financial Operations

We are looking for Accountant, Vendor Invoice Management for Global Financial Operations to be based in Chennai, India. Global Financial Operations is a global operational finance business partner, providing efficient end-to-end financial processes to Valmet. We are owners of Valmet's operative accounting and invest heavily in process harmonization and software automation. We are ambitious and passionate in developing our processes and team competencies.

In this position, you will be required to,

  • Supplier Invoices team is responsible for handling of supplier invoices from arrival to posting; processing and monitoring of incoming invoices and invoices in intranet, providing advice to end-users, supplier master data maintenance, invoice basic data validation, invoice verification and invoice posting to accounts payable also ensuring that supplier invoices include all legal and minimum information required by Valmet.
  • Performing accounting activities to comply with reporting requirements, accounting principles (IFRS) and other regulations.
  • System set-up incl. master data for invoice processing (Basware)
  • Invoice processing and legal requirements and basic data validation incl. Tax handling
  • Process corrections and improvements (e.g. PO-usage, VAT)
  • GRINYA-accounts monitoring and issues escalation and follow-up
  • Accounts reconciliations, financial data validation, accounts specifications and reports
  • Provides expertise and coaching in accounting principles and practices both from accounting and system viewpoint to accountants, controllers and other stakeholders.
  • Identifying and understanding requirements and gaps in solutions and effectively conducting change management.
  • Participate process development and system testing (e.g. Leap Forward).
  • Assisting GFO teams and substituting when needed

To Succeed This Role, You Will Need

A graduate degree in Commerce or equivalent degree Experience in Shared Services Over 5 years of relevant experience A self-motivated attitude and strong team spirit Good written and oral communication skills in English.
