Job Description
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting or Finance or Taxation (Commerce)
- Chartered Accountant
- One to three years of progressive experience
- Knowledge of indirect tax strongly preferred, VAT/GST is a plus
- Proficient in NetSuite or equivalent ERP applications
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Must work collaboratively and possess a strong work ethic
- Must be comfortable interacting with external tax advisors
- Track record of identifying inefficiencies and developing solutions to improve processes
- Able to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for indirect tax compliance filings including working with accounting data, personnel, and outside advisors
- Assist global tax compliance and external tax advisors in the preparation of various indirect tax filings to ensure accurate and timely filings, mainly focusing on VAT and GST
- Perform general accounting functions including preparation and review of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and sub-ledger reconciliations
- Monitor and analyze financial transactions to ensure accounting records are complete and accurate
- Participate in the annual financial audit process including interactions with internal and external auditors
- Assist with other tax related projects on an ad hoc basis and general administrative tasks
