Accountant manages an organization's finances by maintaining records, preparing statements, analyzing data, and ensuring compliance with regulations, handling tasks from daily transaction recording and payroll to monthly/quarterly reporting, budgeting, tax preparation, and providing financial insights to management for strategic decisions. They ensure accuracy, transparency, and legal adherence (GAAP, tax laws) in financial health, identifying risks and opportunities for efficiency.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting: Prepare balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and annual reports.Data Management: Record, analyze, and maintain financial records; reconcile accounts; manage general ledgers.Compliance & Tax: Compute taxes, prepare returns, ensure adherence to laws/GAAP, and handle audits.Budgeting & Forecasting: Monitor budgets, forecast financial performance, and provide financial planning support.Analysis & Strategy: Analyze financial data, identify cost-saving opportunities, suggest revenue enhancements, and advise management.Operations: Process accounts payable/receivable, manage payroll, and oversee cash flow.
