Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Accountant role based in New Delhi. The Accountant will manage day-to-day financial operations, including recording transactions, maintaining general ledgers, preparing invoices, tracking accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring accurate and timely reconciliations. The role involves preparing financial statements, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, and supporting month-end and year-end closing activities. The Accountant will work closely with internal teams to monitor cash flows, manage expense reports, and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls. The position also includes supporting audits, improving financial processes, and providing clear financial reports and analyses to management for decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of core accounting principles, including ledger management, reconciliations, accounts receivable/payable, and financial statement preparation.
  • Proficiency with accounting and ERP software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, or similar), as well as solid MS Excel skills for reporting and analysis.
  • Experience with GST, TDS, and other applicable Indian tax and regulatory requirements, including support for statutory audits and compliance filings.
  • Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities, with high attention to detail and accuracy in all financial work.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and present financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; professional certifications (CA Inter, CMA, or equivalent) are an advantage.
  • Prior experience as an Accountant or in a similar finance role; familiarity with the education, edtech, or healthcare sector is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality and integrity in handling financial data.
