About The Role
We are seeking a tech-savvy Accountant to manage India accounting operations and payroll. The role focuses on execution, compliance, and process efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Internal Accounting:
- Accounting & Compliance
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities including bookkeeping, journal entries, and reconciliation
- Ensure compliance with Indian statutory requirements (GST, TDS, etc.)
- Handle vendor payments, invoicing, and expense tracking
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
Payroll Management
- Process end-to-end payroll for India employees
- Ensure compliance with PF, ESI, PT, and other statutory payroll regulations
- Manage payroll records, payslips, and filings
- Coordinate with HR for payroll inputs and employee queries
Technology & Automation
- Use accounting software such as QuickBooks, Zoho Books, Tally, or similar
- Work with tools like Excel, Google Sheets, and payroll platforms (e.g., Rippling or equivalent)
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities
Reporting & Coordination
- Support internal reporting requirements as needed
- Assist during audits by providing required data and documentation
- Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (CA Inter / MBA preferred)
- 3–6 years of relevant experience in accounting and payroll (India)
- Strong understanding of Indian taxation and compliance (GST, TDS, PF, ESI)
- Hands-on experience with accounting and payroll software
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel / Google Sheets
- Strong attention to detail and execution-focused mindset
