The Accountant will manage day-to-day financial operations for the e-commerce business, including bookkeeping, reconciliation, MIS reporting, taxation, and compliance. The role requires strong knowledge of Excel, Zoho Books, marketplace financial processes, and accuracy in handling high-volume transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounting and Bookkeeping
- Maintain accurate books of accounts in Zoho Books.
- Record sales, purchases, expenses, and journal entries.
- Manage vendor invoices, GRNs, debit notes, and credit notes.
- Track payables and receivables regularly.
- Reconciliation
- Perform daily or weekly reconciliation of sales and settlements from Amazon, Flipkart, and other platforms.
- Reconcile payment gateways, COD amounts, bank statements, and refunds or returns.
- Match TCS or TDS deductions with marketplace reports and 26AS.
- MIS and Reporting
- Prepare weekly and monthly MIS reports including sales, profitability, SKU-level margins, ageing, stock positions, and cash flow.
- Provide actionable insights to support management decision-making.
- Support operations with data trends and reports.
- Taxes and Compliance
- Assist in GST working, GST returns, input reconciliation, and e-invoicing.
- Prepare TDS workings and maintain required documentation.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements for e-commerce operations.
- Maintain records for audits, assessments, and yearly filings.
- E-Commerce Finance Operations
- Reconcile marketplace charges including commission, storage fee, shipping fee, and penalties.
- Verify pricing updates, discounts, and promotions with financial impact.
- Coordinate with marketplaces for settlement issues and debit or charge disputes.
- Coordination and Documentation
- Work closely with warehouse, operations, and marketing teams to maintain financial accuracy.
- Maintain proper filing of invoices, agreements, and reports.
- Support external auditors with required information.
