Accountant

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including bank transactions, accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP) and reconciliations.

• Maintain full sets of accounts for assigned entities, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, accruals and month-end closing.

• Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules for management review.

• Ensure accounting transactions are recorded accurately and promptly.

• Prepare GST returns.

• Liaise with external auditors and tax agents on audit and tax matters.

• Assist with statutory compliance and year-end audit requirements.

• Support improvements to accounting processes and internal controls.

• Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Accountancy, Finance or a related discipline.

• At least five years of relevant accounting experience.

• Experience in shipping, maritime or commodity trading is an advantage.

• Ability to handle full sets of accounts with minimal supervision.

• Basic knowledge of Singapore GST.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Xero accounting software.
