About The Role
This position offers an exciting opportunity to be a vital part of P&G's sales and distribution network, focusing on building strong customer relationships and driving business growth. As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for promoting and selling a portfolio of products and services directly to current and potential customers. Your role involves strategic sales planning, conducting store visits, engaging with clients, executing sales strategies, and managing third-party partners. This role is crucial for understanding customer needs, delivering product benefits effectively, and ensuring high-quality service delivery. You will serve as the single point of contact (SPOC) for PGHL when dealing with third-party business partners and report directly to the Chief Customer Executive Officer (CCEO). The role is based in Mumbai GO - PGHL, with the opportunity for this position to be open for Kolkata, offering a dynamic and challenging environment where your contributions will directly impact the company's market performance and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a relevant educational background, preferably holding a BSc, BCom, or an MBA. Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and presentation tools such as PowerPoint are essential. Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and third-party partners. Prior experience in sales, distribution, or customer relationship management within the consumer goods sector will be advantageous. A proactive attitude, problem-solving ability, and a keen understanding of market dynamics are key attributes for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement business plans in collaboration with third-party partners to ensure alignment with overall sales objectives and growth targets.
- Conduct regular market visits to retail outlets, semi-wholesalers, and authorized stores to monitor product placement, promotional activities, and stock levels.
- Oversee the execution of sales strategies, including promotional schemes, merchandising standards, and asset placement at stores.
- Coordinate with third-party supervisors and sellers to ensure seamless execution of market activities, including call coverage and coverage metrics.
- Drive collection of retailing data and weekly/monthly orders from authorized stores to ensure accurate sales forecasting and inventory management.
- Monitor and analyze sales performance, assortment compliance, and new product launches, taking corrective actions as needed to meet targets.
- Ensure contract compliance and communicate progress and challenges to the Sales Manager, proposing solutions for any non-compliance issues.
- Support capability building initiatives for sales and distribution teams, including conducting training sessions and joint business planning meetings.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform strategic decisions.
