Role Overview
We are looking for an ownership-driven Manager – Accounts to lead the Finance & Accounts function at Modulus Housing. This is not a routine compliance desk role — you will be the financial backbone of a fast-scaling modular construction company, operating at the intersection of governance, strategy, and execution. From managing full-spectrum accounting and statutory compliances to driving ERP implementation, audit coordination, and cross-border transactions, you will build the systems and controls that make our growth sustainable and scalable.
Mandatory Eligibility Criteria:
Articleship completed from a Big 4 / Big 6 firm (Deloitte, PwC, EY, KPMG, BDO, or Grant Thornton) — OR — Minimum 2 years of post-qualification work experience at any of the above firms.
Role in the Team
The Manager – Accounts sits at the heart of Modulus Housing's Finance & Accounts team, working closely with leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to embed financial discipline across the organisation.
- Report directly to the CFO / Finance Head and own the company's accounts function — accountable for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness across all books.
- Act as the key liaison between the finance team and other departments — procurement, projects, HR, and operations — ensuring seamless financial integration into business workflows.
- Partner with leadership on budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting, delivering analytical insights that support strategic decisions and project profitability.
- Lead, mentor, and develop junior accounts team members — building a collaborative, learning-focused finance culture grounded in shared ownership.
- Serve as the primary contact for statutory auditors, internal auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies — managing all audit and compliance interactions end-to-end.
- Drive ERP implementation and process improvement initiatives, establishing controls and systems that scale with rapid company growth.
- Support leadership on special financial projects — investor reporting, company filings, valuations, and cross-border transaction compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Full-Spectrum Accounts Management
- Own and manage the entire accounts function — bookkeeping, reconciliations, journal adjustments, and transaction records — ensuring books are accurate, complete, and audit-ready at all times.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, inter-company reconciliations, and month-end / year-end closing processes.
- Establish and maintain robust controls for inventory accounting, project-level cost tracking, and resource utilisation to safeguard financial accuracy across all project sites.
Compliance & Regulatory Stewardship
- Take end-to-end ownership of all statutory and regulatory compliances — GST (returns, reconciliations, notices), TDS (deduction, payment, filing), Income Tax, PF, ESI, and other applicable obligations.
- Monitor regulatory updates proactively and integrate necessary changes into company practices without delay.
- Manage all ROC filings, company secretarial documentation, and regulatory adherence requirements for corporate governance.
Audit & Assurance
- Lead preparation and coordination for statutory, internal, and external audits — ensuring comprehensive documentation, accurate reconciliations, and timely audit closure.
- Liaise with statutory auditors, Big 4 consultants, and internal audit teams; address queries and drive clean, efficient audit outcomes.
- Maintain continuous audit-readiness — building documentation standards and record-keeping practices that eliminate last-minute gaps.
Financial Reporting & Management Insights
- Prepare and finalise financial statements — P&L, balance sheet, cash flow statements, and notes to accounts — in compliance with applicable accounting standards.
- Produce monthly and quarterly MIS reports and management dashboards for leadership, highlighting key financial metrics, variances, and risk areas.
- Collaborate with the finance team on annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and cash flow projections — providing actionable insights to support business performance.
ERP, Systems & Process Enhancement
- Lead or actively support ERP implementation and upgrade projects — driving adoption across finance, procurement, and project management teams.
- Identify process gaps and design practical, scalable controls and workflows that reduce manual effort, improve accuracy, and support company scale.
- Leverage technology and AI-driven tools to enhance productivity, reporting speed, and financial accuracy within the team.
Cross-Border & Specialised Transactions
- Apply working knowledge of export, import, and forex-related compliance — managing associated documentation, FEMA adherence, and regulatory filings.
- Support certification and oversight of financial documentation connected to valuations, investor due diligence, and company filings.
Team Mentorship & Continuous Improvement
- Guide and develop junior accounts team members through hands-on involvement — promoting knowledge sharing, transparent communication, and collective ownership.
- Take on special finance projects and initiatives with a solution-driven mindset, introducing practical improvements that strengthen financial operations and support scale.

- Additional certifications in ERP systems, IFRS, or taxation are an advantage.
Technical Skills & Experience
- CA with 4–6+ years of experience in accounts and finance, with demonstrated ownership of full-spectrum accounting functions.
- Deep expertise in Indian statutory compliances — GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF, ESI — including return filing, notices, assessments, and departmental interactions.
- Proven experience in preparation and finalisation of financial statements, cash flows, and coordination of statutory and internal audits.

- Adaptable and resilient in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where priorities shift and problems demand practical solutions.
- Detail-oriented with an uncompromising focus on accuracy, process integrity, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborative team leader who shares knowledge freely, develops junior staff, and builds a culture of collective ownership.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for audits, business, or project-related requirements across India.
