As an Account Director, you are responsible for ensuring that every stakeholder — both internal and external — is aligned toward delivering business results. You will act as the primary custodian of client relationships, strategic direction, operational excellence, and commercial growth.
You are expected to be both a leader and an operator: capable of shaping long-term strategy while remaining hands-on enough to ensure flawless execution.
ResponsibilitiesBusiness Leadership
- Own the overall health and performance of assigned client accounts
- Act as the primary custodian of client business objectives, quarterly goals, and annual growth plans
- Ensure all projects, campaigns, and initiatives are delivered on time and within budget
- Develop a deep understanding of client businesses, products, competitors, and industry dynamics
- Guide teams to align creative, media, and strategy outputs with business objectives
Client Partnership
- Build and strengthen senior-level client relationships
- Act as the primary escalation point for complex client situations
- Lead important client meetings, reviews, and presentations
- Become a trusted business advisor rather than just an agency partner
- Ensure all stakeholders remain aligned on expectations, deliverables, and outcomes
Strategic Leadership
- Drive strategic thinking across brands and campaigns
- Translate research, data, and audience insights into actionable recommendations
- Lead annual planning exercises and campaign development initiatives
- Partner with strategy, media, and creative teams to develop integrated solutions
- Ensure every recommendation is rooted in both business logic and cultural relevance
Growth & Commercial Impact
- Identify opportunities to expand client partnerships
- Drive upsell opportunities across service lines
- Support new business pitches and acquisition opportunities
- Help clients unlock greater value from agency services
- Contribute directly to revenue growth and account expansion
Operational Excellence
- Ensure campaigns and projects are executed efficiently
- Maintain oversight of scopes, schedules, budgets, and billing processes
- Anticipate risks, dependencies, and operational challenges before they impact delivery
- Ensure teams operate with consistent processes and high accountability
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor Account Managers and Account Executives
- Build high-performing teams through coaching and support
- Foster collaboration across creative, strategy, media, production, and operations teams
- Create an environment where teams are motivated, accountable, and focused on results
What We're Looking ForExperience
- 6+ years of experience in client servicing, business leadership, or account management
- Minimum 2 years of experience within a leading digital or integrated agency environment
- Proven experience managing multiple brands and stakeholders simultaneously
