About the University and the Role

The University of Aberdeen will open its Mumbai campus in Powai in September 2026. At launch, it will offer six programmes: four-year undergraduate degrees in Computing, Data Science, Economics, and Business Management, along with one-year master's degrees in Artificial Intelligence and Business Administration.
The Academic & Research Associate (Business) will support faculty across Business Management, Economics, and MBA‑related disciplines, contributing to teaching excellence, academic research, and program delivery. This role is well‑suited for candidates aspiring toward a PhD or academic career in management or economics, and offers hands‑on exposure to course delivery, case development, research writing, and student mentoring.

Key Responsibilities
Academic & Teaching Support
- Support faculty in course planning, classroom delivery, and evaluation
- Assist with tutorials, student engagement, and academic mentoring
- Prepare reading material, cases, presentations, and assessment content
- Assist in grading, feedback, and academic record maintenance
- Address student academic queries and learning needs
Research Support & Grant Submission
- Assist faculty with research projects, including:
Literature surveys and synthesis
Data analysis
Drafting research papers.
- Support submission of research to journals and conferences
- Assist with development and submission of grant applications
Academic Operations
- Manage course workflows through Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Support exam planning, invigilation, and logistics
- Ensure documentation, compliance, and process adherence
- Assist in academic events, workshops, and seminars
Professional Development
- Participate in training on pedagogy, case teaching, and research methods
- Attend academic workshops and faculty development sessions
- Build a strong foundation for future doctoral studies
Qualifications & Experience
- Master's degree (or equivalent) in Management, Economics, Business, MBA or related disciplines
- Strong academic credentials across undergraduate and postgraduate studies
- Prior academic, teaching assistant, or research experience preferred
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills
- Comfort with quantitative analysis, basic statistics, and Excel
- Familiarity with academic research and referencing practices
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Ability to work closely with faculty and students in a rigorous academic environment
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills
