Job Description

Primary job title (optimized): Education Counselor

Role & Responsibilities

  • Conduct one-on-one and group counselling sessions to assess student goals, academic profiles, and career aspirations, and recommend suitable educational pathways.
  • Manage end-to-end admissions guidance: explain program options, eligibility, fees, documentation, and application timelines to prospective students and families.
  • Use assessment tools and psychometric reports to create personalised learning plans and actionable next steps for students.
  • Qualify leads, maintain accurate student records in CRM/LMS, and follow up to drive admissions conversions and enrollment targets.
  • Collaborate with academic teams, admissions, and marketing to design outreach campaigns, webinars, and campus engagement activities targeting key student segments.
  • Track student progress post-enrollment, escalate concerns, and contribute to retention strategies and continuous improvement of counselling processes.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, social sciences, or related field.
  • 2+ years of professional experience in education counselling, admissions, or student advisory roles.
  • Demonstrable success in converting enquiries into enrollments and meeting monthly/quarterly targets.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms and learning management systems; strong recordkeeping practices.
  • Experience using student assessment or psychometric tools to inform counseling recommendations.
  • Excellent spoken and written English plus proficiency in at least one major regional language (Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, Bengali, etc.).

Preferred

  • Certification in counselling, career guidance, or a related counselling qualification.
  • Experience in EdTech or campus outreach programs and familiarity with digital lead-generation channels.
  • Familiarity with international admissions or visa counselling (advantageous for study-abroad streams).
