Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Academic Counsellor role based in Malappuram. The Academic Counsellor will guide prospective and current learners in selecting suitable programs, courses, and learning pathways aligned with their interests, abilities, and career goals. Responsibilities include conducting one-on-one counseling sessions, assessing students academic backgrounds, and recommending appropriate academic plans. The role involves providing career guidance, explaining Skilzon's AI-integrated programs, and helping learners understand industry trends and opportunities. The Academic Counsellor will also maintain accurate student records, collaborate with faculty and admissions teams, conduct information sessions or workshops, and follow up with learners to support retention, satisfaction, and successful outcomes.
Qualifications

  • Strong skills in student-facing support, including Student Counseling and Academic Advising, with the ability to guide learners at different stages of their education.
  • Proficiency in Career Counseling and Education-related guidance, helping individuals align academic choices with long-term professional pathways.
  • Excellent Communication skills, including active listening, clear explanation of complex information, and culturally sensitive interaction with diverse learners and families.
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field; a master's degree or counseling certification is an advantage.
  • Prior experience in academic counseling, student services, or career guidance within an educational or training environment is preferred.
  • Ability to use digital tools and platforms for student management, scheduling, and reporting; familiarity with AI-driven or tech-enabled learning solutions is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple learners cases while meeting timelines and institutional goals.
  • Empathetic, ethical, and learner-centered approach, with a commitment to equal opportunity and inclusive educational support.
