The Academic Counsellor will be responsible for providing guidance and support to students in their academic pursuits, helping them to navigate their educational options and achieve their goals.
Responsibilities
- Provide academic guidance and support to students in their educational journey.
- Assist students in course selection and academic planning based on their interests and career goals.
- Conduct workshops and seminars on study skills, time management, and exam preparation techniques.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to help them achieve their academic objectives.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to create a supportive learning environment for students.
- Develop and maintain relationships with students to foster a sense of community and belonging.
- Stay updated on academic programs, policies, and best practices in academic advising.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
- 1-5 years of experience in academic counseling, student services, or educational support roles.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with students and faculty.
- Ability to empathize and understand the diverse backgrounds and needs of students.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Proficiency in using educational software and tools for student management and advising.
- Knowledge of academic programs, course requirements, and career pathways in various fields.
