Job Title: AI/ML Product Engineer, VP

Location: Pune, India

Role Description

Hybrid Cloud Products and UX

• Cloud Products and UX is an Engineering team in Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure, responsible for maturing and maintaining the DB opinionated consumable services within GCP (Cloud Products) as well as maintaining the master record database and telemetry tooling wrt. product consumption via the GCP asset inventory. In addition, the team holds Engineering responsibility for DB's Cloud User Experience (currently an in-house developed Portal / UI). The Cloud Product and UX remit includes the development of AI/ML capabilities to support the end-to-end cloud onboarding user experience.
• Our goal is to use the full native capabilities of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to build a self-service platform for DB's engineers to safely provision GCP resources without friction. You will be a member of a team that builds and operates this platform.
• As an AI/ML Engineer, you will drive the design, enablement, and governance of AI/ML capabilities on GCP, ensuring safe, scalable, and compliant adoption of machine learning and generative AI services across the bank.
• You will work at the intersection of platform engineering, AI/ML model adoption, and policy enforcement, enabling engineering teams to leverage AI/ML services aligned with Deutsche Bank standards, controls, and risk frameworks

Your key responsibilities

AI/ML Platform Engineering & Enablement

• Design, develop, and operationalize AI/ML capabilities within the GCP platform
• Enable standardized access to GCP AI/ML services (Vertex AI, AutoML, APIs, foundation models)
• Build reusable ML pipelines, patterns, and accelerators for enterprise use cases
• Support integration of pre-trained, hosted, and custom-built models

Model Governance & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with Deutsche Bank model risk and regulatory frameworks
• Define guardrails for model usage including data privacy, explainability, and Responsible AI
• Enable controlled model onboarding, validation, and lifecycle tracking

Use Case Enablement & Advisory

• Translate business use cases into appropriate AI/ML solutions
• Recommend suitable GCP services, models, and architectures
• Support teams in accelerating AI/ML adoption

MLOps& Engineering Excellence

• ImplementMLOpspractices (training, deployment, monitoring, drift detection)
• Build CI/CD pipelines for ML workflows
• Integrate ML pipelines with enterprise platform services

Technical Leadership

• Provide technical leadership and mentoring
• Drive standardization and best practices
• Contribute to AI/ML roadmap

Your skills and experience

• AI/ML Expertise
• Strong experience in ML model lifecycle
• Knowledge of GenAI, ML techniques
• GCP AI/ML Services
• Experience with Vertex AI, APIs,BigQueryML

Engineering &MLOps

• Python, TensorFlow/PyTorch, CI/CD, Terraform
• Strong grasp of API design, system integration, and delivering AI features in full-stack products.

Governance & Risk Awareness

• Model governance understanding
• Familiar with ethical AI, model explainability, and secure, privacy-aware AI development.
• You identify as a generalist who specialises in a few areas. Terraform, Python, Automation, DevOps (CI/CD) and at least one Public Cloud Provider (GCP, AWS or Azure)
• Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD tools, and GitOps workflows.
• You can demonstrate how you have helped your team to achieve its goals. You are an able trainer, coach, and mentor who knows when each technique is best applied.
• You are confident in working with several programming languages - preferably Python or Terraform -, tools and technologies, including Infrastructure as Code, with the ability to guide colleagues as to the context where each is useful.
• Ideally, you are experienced in using GCP or another public cloud provider to build applications.
• Google Cloud certifications (e.g., Associate Cloud Engineer, Professional Cloud Architect, or Professional DevOps Engineer) are a plus.
