Role Objective - Own VMware vSphere, Horizon, and Workspace ONE reliability, while actively participating in OpenShift and automationdriven modernization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as SME for VMware vSphere, Horizon, and Workspace ONE
• Diagnose hybrid incidents spanning:
• ESXi / vCenter
• Horizon brokers & agents
• Windows / Linux workloads
• Translate VMwarederived signals into:
• APIs
• Metrics
• Observability pipelines
• Partner with SRE Ops to ensure:
• Correct alerts (not noisy alerts)
• Accurate dashboards
• Support OpenShift platforms (Day2 ops):
• Resource pressure
• Node & workload behavior
• Build automation to replace manual VMware/EUC workflows
• Participate in limited oncall (platformonly)

Shift 2PM – 11PM all days (Mon-Fri)

Required Skills (Hard Requirements):

• VMware vSphere / ESXi (production depth)
• VMware Horizon (VDI architecture and operations)
• Workspace ONE (auth, device posture, integrations)
• Linux fundamentals (RHEL)
• REST API usage (read/write, auth)
• Python or PowerShell scripting

Nice to Have:

• OpenShift or Kubernetes experience
• Prometheus / Grafana exposure
• Terraform / IaC
• Identity / auth flows

Explicit NonGoals:

• Not an incident dispatcher
• Not a ticket-only role
• Not a pure EUC admin role

Leveling:

• Senior IC
• Trusted escalation point for VMware/EUC
• Reduces risk during hybrid incidents
• Mentors midlevel engineers

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering or a Degree in Computer Science is required.
