Role Overview
The VFX 3D Team Head supervises a team skilled in various aspects of 3D visual effects
production. They manage project resources and schedules, ensuring timely delivery of high-
quality work. Additionally, they provide technical direction and support in 3D modeling,
texturing, animation, and rendering. The Team Head fosters collaboration among team members,
encouraging knowledge sharing and skill development. They also oversee quality control to
ensure the final output meets project requirements and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Begin by establishing clear objectives for the 3D team, including project timelines, quality standards, and client expectations. Ensure everyone understands their roles and responsibilities within the team.
- Effectively plan and manage the project using VFx production pipeline, Organization software's.
- Anticipate and Communicate issues to the Line Producer in order to resolve issues quickly.
- Assess the scope of work and allocate resources, including manpower and software tools, effectively to meet project deadlines. Monitor resource utilization and make adjustments as necessary to optimize productivity.
- Offer technical guidance and support to team members, helping them navigate challenges and achieve high-quality results. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to provide relevant insights to the team.
- Develop clear guidelines and standards for 3D work, including quality expectations, project timelines, and communication protocols. Ensure that all team members understand these guidelines and adhere to them throughout the project.
- Implement a system for tracking the progress of 3D works, such as using project management software or spreadsheets. Regularly review the status of each shot to monitor progress and identify any potential delays or issues.
- Offer timely feedback to artists on their 3D work, focusing on both strengths and areas for improvement. Provide specific and constructive feedback that helps artists understand how to enhance their work quality and efficiency.

Skills & Attributes
- Strong knowledge of 3D workflows including modeling, texturing, lighting, rigging, and animation.
- Proficiency in industry-standard 3D software (e.g., Maya, Blender, Houdini, 3ds Max).
- Strong leadership and team management skills, capable of guiding teams to meet artistic and technical objectives.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Visual Effects, Animation, Film Production, or equivalent industry experience.
- 15+ years of experience in 3D Head or similar roles within the film, television, or gaming industries.
- Hands-on experience with Software's and in-house pipeline tools.
- Willingness to travel and adapt to various production environments.
