Job Title: Character Rigging & Animation Artist

Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled Character Rigging & Animation Artist who can build high-quality,
animator-friendly rigs and also create polished character animations. The role requires strong
technical rigging knowledge, a solid understanding of anatomy, motion, and performance, and close
collaboration with art and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Create production-ready character rigs for humanoid and creature characters
• Build IK/FK systems, deformation rigs, and control setups
• Develop facial rigs (blendshape-based and/or joint-based)
• Perform clean skinning and weight painting
• Animate characters for gameplay, cinematics, or cutscenes
• Create body and facial animations (idle, walk, run, combat, emotions, etc.)
• Ensure smooth deformations and appealing motion
• Optimize rigs and animations for performance and stability
• Collaborate with animators, character artists, and technical artists
• Fix rigging, skinning, and animation issues during production
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Strong experience in Autodesk Maya
• Excellent understanding of anatomy, weight, timing, and motion
• Expertise in Linear & Dual Quaternion skinning
• Proficiency in IK/FK blending, constraints, and space switching
• Solid knowledge of character animation principles
• Experience with facial animation and lip-sync
• Basic to intermediate Python or MEL scripting
• Understanding of animation and game pipelines
Preferred Skills
• Experience with Advanced Skeleton, mGear, or custom auto-rig systems
• Game engine integration experience (Unreal Engine / Unity)
• Knowledge of FBX export, retargeting, and animation blueprints
• Motion capture cleanup and polish experience
• Real-time animation optimization skills
