Job Description – Civil & Commercial Litigation

Position: Associate / Senior Associate

Location: Delhi / Mumbai

PQE: 5–7 Years

Role Overview

We are looking for experienced litigation lawyers to join the Civil & Commercial Litigation practice of a reputed law firm. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in handling complex civil and commercial disputes, with excellent drafting, research, court appearance and client management skills.

Key Responsibilities

Handle civil and commercial litigation matters from inception through final resolution.
Draft pleadings, written statements, petitions, applications, legal notices, rejoinders and other court documents.
Appear before High Courts, District Courts, Tribunals and other judicial/quasi-judicial forums.
Conduct detailed legal research and assist in developing litigation strategy.
Brief and coordinate with Senior Counsel and external advocates, wherever required.
Review case records, prepare briefs, chronologies and arguments for hearings.
Advise clients on litigation strategy, legal risks and potential outcomes.
Independently manage day-to-day conduct of assigned matters.
Coordinate with clients and internal teams and provide regular matter updates.
Monitor court proceedings, deadlines and case developments.
Assist in settlement discussions and alternative dispute resolution proceedings, where applicable.

Required Skills & Experience

5–7 years of relevant experience in Civil & Commercial Litigation.
Experience with a reputed law firm is preferred.
Strong drafting and legal research skills.
Good understanding of civil and commercial laws and litigation procedures.
Experience appearing before courts and tribunals.
Strong communication and client-handling skills.
Ability to manage multiple matters and work effectively under tight deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
