Role Description The Student Counselor role is a full-time, on-site position based in Kochi. The counselor will guide students through the entire study abroad process, including understanding their academic background and aspirations, recommending suitable courses and institutions, and explaining admission requirements and timelines. Daily responsibilities include conducting counseling sessions, responding to student and parent inquiries, maintaining accurate records, and supporting application preparation such as documentation, forms, and statements of purpose. The role also involves coordinating with international institutions or partner agencies, organizing information sessions, and keeping up-to-date with evolving admission policies, visa regulations, and scholarship opportunities. The counselor will collaborate with colleagues to ensure a smooth and supportive experience for every student from initial consultation through to admission decisions.

Qualifications

Strong student counseling and guidance skills, with the ability to assess academic profiles and career goals.
Knowledge of international education systems and admission processes for key destinations such as the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Ireland, and Switzerland.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, parents, and institutional representatives.
Organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple student cases, deadlines, and documentation requirements.
Proficiency in using office productivity tools and maintaining accurate digital records and reports.
Attention to detail and a commitment to providing accurate, up-to-date information on courses, admissions, and visas.
Bachelor's degree in any discipline; a background in education, counseling, psychology, or related fields is an advantage.
Prior experience in academic advising, student counseling, or study abroad consulting is preferred but not mandatory.
