Role Definition
We are seeking a PLC Engineer to deliver effective Operation and maintenance practices of paint shop, assembly shop and robotic control systems for production equipment's to troubleshooting of Siemens, ABB & Mitsubishi controls, preventive & predictive maintenance to achieve production targets and quality standards with minimal downtime, perform projects, maintenance and collaboration with stake holders in a manufacturing plant.

Reporting To: Maintenance Manager
Experience
7+ years (Industrial Automation / PLC Service)
Key Responsibilities
PLC Programming & Troubleshooting
- Troubleshoot and modify PLC programs for:
- Siemens (S7-300/400, S7-1200/1500, TIA Portal)
- ABB (AC500 series)
- Mitsubishi (FX / Q / iQ series)
- Online debugging, fault diagnosis, and logic optimization
- Handling PLC CPU, I/O modules, communication faults
Service & Commissioning
- Equipment's breakdown support and root cause analysis
- PLC panel commissioning and startup support
- Machine retrofits, upgrades, and program backups/restoration
- Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities
HMI & Communication
- HMI troubleshooting and minor development (WinCC, GOT, ABB HMI)
- Industrial communication protocols:
- Profibus / Profinet
- Ethernet/IP
- Modbus (RTU/TCP)
- Integration with VFDs, servos, sensors, and safety devices
Documentation & Coordination
- Prepare service reports, logic change records, and backups
- Coordinate with production, maintenance, and OEM teams
- Provide technical guidance to technicians/operators
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in:
- Siemens PLC (Mandatory)
- ABB PLC
- Mitsubishi PLC
- Electrical panel understanding (schematics, wiring)
- VFDs (Siemens, ABB, Mitsubishi preferred)
- Basic SCADA knowledge (WinCC / ABB SCADA added advantage)
Qualification
- Diploma / BE / BTech in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation / Automation
Soft Skills
- Strong troubleshooting mindset
- Ability to work independently during breakdowns
- Good communication and documentation skills
- Willingness to travel for field service support
Preferred / Added Advantage
- Automotive / Manufacturing industry exposure
- Safety PLC knowledge
- Servo drives commissioning
