Role Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to manage end-to-end financial operations using Zoho Books as the core platform, while ensuring full statutory compliance and audit-ready records. This is a high-visibility role with direct reporting to the Finance Manager, offering significant ownership and opportunities to drive process improvements in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Maintain complete books of accounts in Zoho Books, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable/Receivable, bank reconciliations, inventory valuation, and fixed assets management.
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements along with MIS reports for management.
- Handle month-end and year-end closing processes efficiently.
Taxation & Statutory Compliance
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9), TDS, TCS, PF, ESI, and Professional Tax.
- Reconcile Input Tax Credit (ITC), resolve portal discrepancies, and maintain compliance records.
- Coordinate with tax consultants for assessments, notices, and audits.
Payroll & Expense Management
- Process end-to-end payroll for 100+ employees using Zoho Payroll, including salary structuring, deductions, reimbursements, investment declarations, Form 16 issuance, and statutory filings.
- Configure and manage Zoho Expense set up approval workflows, policies, corporate card reconciliations, and generate department/project-wise analytics.
Process Improvement & Support
- Identify and implement automation opportunities using Zoho Flow, Deluge scripts, or custom functions.
- Support internal and statutory audits with well-organized documentation.
- Train junior team members on Zoho applications and best practices.
Requirements
Essential
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce/Accounting (B.Com/M.Com).
- 25 years of core accounting experience, preferably in trading, import, manufacturing, or distribution sectors.
- At least 1 year of hands-on, expert-level experience with Zoho Books (GL, AP/AR, inventory, bank reconciliation, GST filing).
- Strong working knowledge of Indian GAAP, GST, TDS, PF, ESI, PT, and TCS compliance.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets for reporting and analysis.
- Experience in audit support, bank reconciliation, and inventory accounting.
Preferred
- Hands-on experience with Zoho Payroll and Zoho Expense (training will be provided for strong candidates).
- Exposure to Zoho Inventory, Zoho Flow, Zoho Analytics, or Tally Prime and API integrations.
