Role : DevOps Lead AWS | Agentic AI | Life Sciences
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced DevOps Lead to drive DevOps strategy and execution for an AWS-based Agentic AI platform within the Life Sciences domain.
This role combines deep hands-on technical expertise with strong leadership and delivery ownership.
The DevOps Lead will manage a team of 5 to 10 engineers, collaborate closely with Program Managers and Project Managers, and ensure predictable, secure, and high-quality platform delivery while maintaining sustainable team utilization and work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of DevOps engineers delivering AWS-based AI platforms.
- Define and implement DevOps architecture, CI/CD pipelines, and automation strategies.
- Collaborate with PMs and program stakeholders on planning, estimations, timelines, and dependencies.
- Design secure, scalable AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code.
- Implement deployment automation, monitoring, observability, and cost optimization practices.
- Drive DevOps best practices, security compliance, and operational excellence.
- Support reliable delivery through strong release management and incident response processes.
- Act as the primary DevOps contact for delivery readiness and customer expectations.
- Promote sustainable delivery practices ensuring healthy team workload and engagement.
Mandatory Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS CI/CD services and pipeline design
- Expertise in AWS CloudFormation and Infrastructure-as-Code practices
- Experience with Amazon Cognito for authentication and authorization
- Hands-on exposure to AWS Bedrock and Agent Corebased AI services
- Experience with API Gateway for secure API exposure
- Knowledge of EventBridge / Event Bus and event-driven architectures
- Proficiency in Shell scripting and automation workflows
- Strong experience with AWS monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident management
Leadership & Delivery Skills
- Proven experience leading DevOps teams in complex cloud delivery programs
- Strong estimation, capacity planning, and resource utilization expertise
- Experience managing delivery timelines and evolving customer expectations
- Hands-on experience with Agile / Scrum delivery models
- Strong collaboration with architects, AI engineers, data teams, and PMs
- Ownership mindset with strong focus on delivery quality and team well-being
Experience & Qualifications
- 8 to 12+ years of overall IT experience with 46+ years in AWS DevOps roles
- Prior experience leading DevOps teams in cloud-native environments
- Exposure to AI/ML / GenAI platforms strongly preferred
- AWS Certifications (DevOps Engineer / Solutions Architect) preferred
- Experience in regulated industries (Life Sciences / Healthcare / Pharma) is a plus
