Your Role And Responsibilities

This position is for System Z Host Firmware team. This team works on developing the firmware running of System Z processors.

The host firmware implements complex instructions, handles system initialization, handles recovery, implements I/O device drivers, and implements the Channel Sub System for IBM Z systems.

Preferred Education

Bachelor's Degree

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

  • 8-15 years of relevant Industry experience
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong experience with C/C++ programming and data structures.
  • Some experience in Shell/Python scripting language.
  • Good understanding of Computer architecture, Operating systems.
  • Development and debugging experience in Linux
  • Good analytical, problem solving skills
  • Experience in device driver development
  • Knowledge and experience in PCI and I/O devices and Storage protocol development FICON and SCSI
  • Git working knowledge

Preferred Technical And Professional Experience

  • Experience in multiple processor architectures (arm, x86, s390)
  • Linux System programming skills
  • Experience in CI/CD pipeline
  • Experience in Google test framework
  • Build tools - CMake, Makefile
  • Some knowledge in assembly programming.
