About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented YouTube Content Editor to drive the creation, optimisation, and publishing of high-quality editorial video content. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of digital storytelling, audience engagement, YouTube analytics, and content optimisation strategies to enhance channel growth and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Publish high-quality editorial video content consistently and within defined timelines.
- Identify, develop, and package newsworthy and trending stories for digital audiences.
- Ensure editorial accuracy, relevance, quality, and strong storytelling standards across all published content.
- Optimise video titles, descriptions, tags, thumbnails, and metadata to improve YouTube search visibility and discoverability.
- Monitor and analyse channel performance metrics, including views, watch time, subscriber growth, and audience engagement.
- Generate actionable insights from YouTube Analytics and recommend content improvements.
- Coordinate effectively with content creators, video editors, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth workflow execution.
- Stay updated on current affairs, digital media trends, audience behaviour, and platform updates.
- Ensure compliance with copyright regulations, community guidelines, and platform policies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Skills
- Newsroom experience is always preferred.
- Strong editorial writing and editing skills in English.
- Ability to identify and develop compelling digital stories.
- Proficiency in analysing and interpreting YouTube Analytics.
- Knowledge of YouTube content optimisation and basic SEO principles.
- Working knowledge of video editing tools will be an added advantage.
Knowledge
- In-depth understanding of YouTube as a content and distribution platform.
- Familiarity with digital news consumption patterns and audience behaviour.
- Awareness of copyright laws, platform policies, and community guidelines.
- Strong understanding of current affairs, emerging news trends, and the digital media ecosystem.
