About the role:
The Yoga Programme aims to improve the physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing of femaleacross rural Punjab through structured, culturally appropriate yoga and mindfulness practices. The programme will be delivered at scale across multiple villages, leveraging local community/ changemakers,
The candidate will be Responsible for designing, scaling, and institutionalising a high-quality yoga programme for rural female. The role combines programme strategy, grassroots execution, capacity building, partnerships, and impact measurement, ensuring that the programme is accessible, safe, respectful, and transformative for female across Punjab.
What you'll do:
Operations
- Develop the overall programme framework, including objectives, curriculum structure, delivery models, and scale plan for village-level implementation.
- Create the yoga curriculum tailored to rural Female, considering all groups, physical ability, cultural norms, and local contexts.
- Integrate elements of breathwork, mindfulness, stress reduction, and lifestyle awareness where appropriate.
- Lead end-to-end rollout of the programme across villages, ensuring consistency and quality of delivery.
- Identify and activate village-level spaces (schools, community centres, panchayat buildings, Anganwadi's, etc.) for yoga sessions.
- Establish clear SOPs for session delivery, safety, attendance, and community engagement.
- Review and refine the yoga changemaker selection and training plan
- Oversee scheduling, logistics, and coordination for regular village yoga sessions.
- Recruit, train, and manage a cadre of female yoga instructors / community facilitators from local areas wherever possible, including designing of training-of-trainers (ToT) programmes.
- Performance management
Community Engagement & Females Participation
- Build trust and strong relationships with female participants, families, village leaders, and local institutions.
- Work closely with panchayats, SHGs, ASHA workers, anganwadi workers, and local NGOs to drive participation and retention.
- Address social, cultural, and logistical barriers that may limit Female's participation in the programme.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning
- Define key programme KPIs related to reach, attendance, retention, facilitator performance.
- Use Impact Dashboard effectively
- Contribute to impact reports, case studies, and learning documentation.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 812+ years of experience in grassroots programme leadership, preferably in rural or community-based settings.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in social work, Public Health, Rural Development, Physical Education, or a related field.
- Formal certification in Yoga (from a recognised institution); advanced or therapeutic yoga training preferred.
- Prior experience working with Female-focused programmes in Punjab or similar socio-cultural contexts.
- Experience in training, managing field teams, and working at scale across multiple locations.
- Good understanding of rural Punjab's social and cultural dynamics.
- Excellent people management and community engagement skills.
- Ability to execute with discipline and empathy.
- Comfortable with extensive field travel and hands-on work in villages.
- Fluency in Punjabi (mandatory); working knowledge of Hindi and English preferred.
