Description

We are looking for an AEM Back-End Developer with 23 years of hands-on experience to support the development and maintenance of AEM-based enterprise websites. The role focuses on backend AEM development across AEM Sites and exposure to Edge Delivery Services (EDS), working closely with senior developers, architects, and frontend teams.

This position is ideal for a developer who has a solid foundation in AEM backend concepts and is eager to grow into solution design, integrations, and enterprise-scale delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain backend components for AEM Sites projects, with exposure to EDS-based implementations.
  • Build and enhance Sling Models, Servlets, OSGi Services, and Workflows under guidance from senior team members.
  • Support backend integrations using REST/SOAP/GraphQL APIs with enterprise systems (CRM, PIM, etc.).
  • Assist in optimizing JCR queries, Oak indexing, and dispatcher configurations.
  • Follow AEM security best practices including ACLs, secure APIs, CORS, and CSRF handling.
  • Collaborate with frontend developers, architects, DevOps, and QA teams during implementation and testing.
  • Support troubleshooting of lower and higher environment issues related to workflows, APIs, and dispatcher.
  • Participate in code reviews, documentation, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Assist senior team members in estimations, technical discussions, and internal solutioning activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 2 - 3 years of hands-on experience in AEM backend development.
  • Strong foundation in Java, Sling Models, OSGi, Servlets.
  • Experience working with AEM 6.x or AEM as a Cloud Service (AEMaaCS).
  • Basic to intermediate understanding of JCR, Oak repository, and indexing concepts.
  • Experience consuming or building REST APIs (SOAP/GraphQL is a plus).
  • Familiarity with AEM Dispatcher and caching concepts.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (Cloud Manager, Jenkins, or similar).
  • Good debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and grow in client-facing and solutioning responsibilities.
