Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Woven Textile Designer role based in Mumbai. The Woven Textile Designer will develop original woven fabric concepts, patterns, and textures for menswear and womenswear collections in line with brand and client requirements. Responsibilities include creating design briefs, preparing mood boards, developing color palettes, and translating concepts into detailed weave designs using relevant design tools and software. The role involves collaborating with the product development, production, and merchandising teams to ensure designs are feasible, cost-effective, and aligned with market trends. The designer will review samples, refine designs based on feedback, maintain a library of weave structures and references, and support timely execution of seasonal and custom collections.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in textiles, including knowledge of woven structures, yarns, fabric constructions, and material behavior.
  • Skills in Textile Prints and Graphics to support surface design and coordinate woven patterns with printed collections.
  • Ability to integrate Embroidery details with woven designs to create cohesive, market-ready fabric ranges.
  • Proficiency in Graphic Design tools (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar) for visualizing patterns, colorways, and presentation boards.
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Textile Design, Fashion Design, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Experience in woven textile or fabric design, preferably within the fashion or apparel industry.
  • Strong trend awareness, color sense, and attention to detail, with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams and manufacturing partners.
