Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Workshop Service Technician (Škoda Cars) based in Chennai. The technician will perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repair work on Škoda vehicles in line with manufacturer standards and workshop procedures. Responsibilities include inspecting vehicles, identifying mechanical and electrical issues, carrying out troubleshooting, and completing repair orders accurately. The role also involves coordinating with service advisors, explaining technical findings in a clear manner, and ensuring timely completion of jobs to meet customer commitments. The technician will maintain tools and equipment, follow safety and quality guidelines, update job records in the service system, and support continuous improvement initiatives in the workshop.
Qualifications

  • Strong skills in Maintenance & Repair for passenger vehicles, with the ability to perform scheduled services and component replacements.
  • Proficiency in Troubleshooting and diagnostics for mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems using tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Experience in Field Service or on-site service support, including occasional road-side assistance or external service visits as required.
  • Customer Service capabilities to communicate clearly with service advisors and customers, manage expectations, and support overall service quality.
  • Solid understanding of general Maintenance practices, workshop safety, and adherence to OEM standards.
  • Diploma/ITI in Automobile, Mechanical, or related field, or equivalent technical qualification.
  • Prior experience as an automotive technician, preferably with Škoda, VW group, or other premium brands, is an advantage.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and service bulletins.
  • Attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a workshop team.
