Job Description
Job Summary
You will lead workplace safety and health efforts by conducting audits, investigating incidents, advising on compliance, and responding promptly to emergencies to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct workplace safety audits across various sites and deliver detailed reports with actionable recommendations to improve safety standards
- Provide secretarial support and actively participate in Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) committee meetings to facilitate effective communication and compliance
- Advise management and teams on risk assessments, regulatory compliance, and WSH best practices to mitigate workplace hazards
- Investigate workplace incidents thoroughly and submit comprehensive investigation reports with findings and corrective actions
- Respond to emergency safety issues within 2 hours and address non-urgent safety concerns within 2 working days to minimize risks
- Perform additional ad-hoc safety audits as required to maintain continuous safety oversight
- Maintain and update compliance documentation, including legal registers, to ensure adherence to WSH regulations and standards
- Apply knowledge of WSH management systems, specifically SS ISO 45001:2018, to support organizational safety frameworks
Required competencies and certifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO)
- Registration with Ministry of Manpower (MOM) as a Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO)
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Deep understanding of Workplace Safety and Health Act (WSHA) and related regulations
- Proficiency in conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations
- Strong skills in reporting, advisory, and training related to workplace safety
- Ability to respond swiftly and effectively to emergency safety situations
