Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Discovery & Profiling

  • Analyze and profile flat files exported from Preceda
  • Identify data quality issues (gaps, duplicates, inconsistent formatting)
  • Build a comprehensive data inventory and data dictionary

2. Field Mapping & Documentation

  • Map Preceda source fields to Workday Prism datasets
  • Collaborate with Payroll SMEs and Workday teams to define transformation logic
  • Maintain version-controlled documentation and transformation rules

3. Data Transformation & Preparation

  • Cleanse, normalize, and format historical flat file data (multi-year scope)
  • Automate repeatable transformation pipelines using Python, SQL, Excel, or Alteryx
  • Ensure formats align with Workday Prism ingestion and Australian payroll data standards

4. Workday Prism Integration

  • Assist with configuration of Prism staging datasets
  • Define relationships, dataset keys, and access/security parameters
  • Support ingestion, validation, and troubleshooting with internal Workday teams

5. Validation & Reconciliation

  • Reconcile Prism datasets against Preceda reports
  • Work with Payroll SMEs to verify earnings, tax, super, and leave accuracy
  • Build audit and reconciliation reports to ensure completeness and integrity

6. Reporting & Compliance Readiness

  • Support creation of historical payroll dashboards and reports in Prism
  • Ensure alignment with ATO STP Phase 2, record-keeping laws, and audit needs
  • Document processes and outputs to meet internal and external audit standards

7. Governance & Documentation

  • Apply data privacy best practices (e.g., secure handling of TFNs and termination data)
  • Ensure adherence to organisational data retention and governance policies
  • Prepare clear handover documentation for internal teams post-project

Required Skills & Experience

Mandatory

  • 5-8 years of experience in data transformation, migration, or integration
  • Strong hands-on experience with flat files (CSV, TXT, Excel) and ETL processes
  • Proficiency inSQL(e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery),Python (Pandas),Excel (PowerQuery), and/orAlteryx
  • Experience in cross-functional project teams, preferably in payroll or HR environments
