Job Description

Title: Workday Functional Consultant

Experience: 5+ years

Location: Gurugram-Hybid

Role Overview

As a Workday Functional Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in delivering our Workday roadmap by configuring, optimizing, and supporting HCM modules across the organization. You will collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams, and third-party vendors to ensure robust, scalable, and efficient HR processes. This role requires strong functional expertise, hands-on configuration skills, and a passion for continuous improvement in a dynamic, global environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support end-to-end configuration and administration of Workday modules: Core HCM, Absence, Talent Acquisition, Performance & Talent Management, Compensation (Core & Advanced), Benefits, Journeys, Knowledge, and Case Management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and deliver high-quality configurations and enhancements.
  • Ensure compliance with IT governance, audit, and data integrity standards, and support internal/external audits as required.
  • Monitor and resolve complex Workday-related incidents and service requests within SLA, providing clear and timely communication to stakeholders.
  • Support Workday releases, regression testing, and change management initiatives, ensuring smooth adoption of new features.
  • Prepare and maintain functional documentation, SOPs, and provide knowledge transfer to HR superusers and team members.
  • Stay current with Workday functionality, industry trends, and best practices; proactively recommend improvements and process optimizations.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of hands-on Workday functional experience, with expertise in at least two modules (e.g., Core HCM, Absence, Compensation, Talent).
  • Proven experience in configuration, process mapping, testing, and continuous improvement of HR processes.
  • Workday Pro Certification in Platform Administration and Core HCM.
  • Strong understanding of HR processes, compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working in global delivery models.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in global deployments and stakeholder management.
  • Workday Pro Certifications in advanced Workday modules (e.g, Talent Acquisition, Advanced Compensation, Talent etc.)

Working Model

  • The role follows a hybrid working arrangement, designed to facilitate effective global collaboration. Team members are expected to work between 11:30 and 20:30 IST. There may also be occasions when extended working hours are necessary to accommodate cross-time-zone activities.
  • Additionally, there is an expectation to provide support during the 17:30 to 2:30 IST shift if all regular team members assigned to that shift are on leave.
