Job Summary
The Workday Functional Analyst will be responsible for configuring, supporting, and optimizing Workday modules to meet business requirements. This role acts as a liaison between HR, Finance, Payroll, and IT teams to ensure effective Workday functionality, system enhancements, and data integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the functional subject matter expert (SME) for Workday modules such as:
- HCM, Core HR
- Recruiting
- Compensation
- Benefits
- Payroll
- Time Tracking
- Absence Management
- Financial Management (if applicable)
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements and translate them into functional designs.
- Configure and maintain Workday business processes, security roles, domains, and condition rules.
- Perform system testing (unit, integration, UAT) and support deployment activities.
- Manage Workday releases, including feature impact analysis and regression testing.
- Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and calculated fields.
- Provide Tier 2/3 support for Workday-related issues and troubleshooting.
- Partner with HR, Finance, and Payroll teams to ensure system alignment with business processes.
- Support data integrations, EIBs, and mass data loads.
- Ensure data accuracy, compliance, and audit readiness.
- Create user documentation and conduct end-user training.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, HR, Finance, or related field.
- Strong hands-on experience with Workday configuration and business processes.
- In-depth knowledge of at least one Workday functional module.
- Experience with Workday reporting (Advanced, Matrix, Composite).
- Understanding of Workday security framework.
- Experience with Workday Studio or integrations (preferred).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Workday certification(s) in relevant modules.
- Experience with Workday implementations or major upgrades.
- Knowledge of HRIS best practices and compliance requirements.
- Experience in Agile or SDLC environments.
- Prior consulting experience is a plus.
