About the Role:

We at Verdantas, looking fora skilled Workday Benefit and Absence Architect to join our team.

This role will be responsible for driving the end-to-end architecture, design, and optimization of the Workday Benefits and Absence ecosystem. The role will ensure scalable system design, regulatory compliance, and seamless integration with Workday HCM, Payroll, and third-party vendors, while enabling efficient business processes and enhancing overall employee experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Owns the architecture and configuration for Workday Benefits and Absence ecosystems ensuring that designs are scalable for a growing company
  • Create and maintain complex eligibility rules for benefit groups, benefit plans, leave plans, and time off plans for the company and acquired companies
  • Design and configure absence plans ensuring alignment with policy and compliance requirements at the state and federal levels
  • Configure a variety of benefit plans including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, HSA, FSA, life and disability insurance, and 401(k)
  • Support the Benefits team with compliance reporting such as ACA, COBRA, and FMLA
  • Partner developers and benefit vendors set up new integrations and maintain existing integrations that impact the benefits and absence ecosystems
  • Partner with payroll teams to test downstream impacts and ensure accurate payroll
  • Lead regression testing for Benefits and Absence after new Workday releases
  • Create custom reports including but not limited to standard, advanced, composite, and matrix reports
  • Support Workday tenant maintenance, enhancements, and troubleshooting for Benefits and Absence functional areas and provide support in related functional area as needed
  • Assist HCM Manager with preparing change management plans and creating guides for end users
  • Test AI features such as Workday's Employee Self Service agent and assist with overall innovation enhancements

Education and Experience:

  • 5-8 years of Workday Benefits & Absence configuration experience
  • In depth knowledge of the touchpoints between Benefits, Absence, HCM, and Payroll
  • Understanding of FMLA and State Leave programs
  • Workday Benefits Certification
  • Workday Absence Certification
  • Experience with time tracking integration
  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Computer Science or related degree
