About The Role
We are looking for a WordPress Development Intern who is eager to learn modern web development and actively explore AI tools for faster, smarter work. You will assist in building and maintaining WordPress websites, working closely with the development team on real client projects, and using tools like Claude Code, ChatGPT, Gemini, and similar AI agents for development and debugging support.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in building and customising WordPress websites using page builders such as Elementor, WPBakery, Beaver Builder, and others.
- Help implement basic security and anti-spam measures including CAPTCHA, honeypots, Wordfence, and iThemes Security.
- Support website performance optimisation using WP Rocket, caching plugins, and KeyCDN under guidance.
- Contribute to writing and maintaining clean, structured code in HTML, CSS, basic JavaScript, and PHP.
- Assist in configuring Mailgun / SMTP for email delivery and notification setups.
- Help apply on-page SEO best practices using Yoast SEO or Rank Math.
- Test websites to ensure they are responsive, mobile-friendly, and function correctly across devices and browsers.
- Use AI tools such as Claude Code, Claude AI, ChatGPT, Gemini, Codex, and Lovable to assist with code generation, debugging, and simple workflow automation under the guidance of senior developers.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (PHP basics are a plus).
- Familiarity with WordPress through personal projects, college projects, or self-learning.
- Understanding of responsive and mobile-friendly website design principles.
- Interest in website security, performance optimisation, and SEO (training will be provided).
- Curiosity and willingness to learn and use AI tools such as Claude Code, Claude AI, ChatGPT, Gemini, Codex, or similar for development and debugging.
- Good problem-solving attitude, attention to detail, and willingness to take feedback and continuously improve.
- Ability to work as an intern for 6 months.
