We're looking for a skilled WordPress Developer to join our team at Quixta Ventures — a boutique web design and development studio that has delivered 350+ projects across 23+ countries. You'll work on a diverse range of client projects, collaborating closely with our designers and project managers to deliver fast, pixel-perfect websites that clients love.
This role is equal parts technical craft and client communication, you'll be expected to own your deliverables end-to-end, ask the right questions, and build with quality from day one.
Core responsibilities
- Build and maintain WordPress websites with Elementor, translating Figma designs into pixel-perfect, responsive pages
- Develop custom themes, child themes, and page templates with clean, maintainable code
- Implement performance best practices — Core Web Vitals, image optimization, caching, minification, and lazy loading
- Set up and configure plugins, ensuring compatibility, security, and minimal performance overhead
- Perform site audits and troubleshoot issues across browsers and devices
- Coordinate with designers and project managers throughout the build process
- Communicate directly with clients on requirements, feedback rounds, and delivery milestones
- Manage hosting environments, DNS, SSL, staging setups, and deployment workflows
Required skills and qualifications
WordPress and Elementor
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on WordPress development experience
- Strong command of Elementor Pro — custom widgets, dynamic content, global styles, and responsive controls
- Proficiency in custom theme and child theme development (PHP, HTML, CSS, JS)
- Solid understanding of the WordPress loop, hooks, and filters
- Experience with ACF (Advanced Custom Fields) and custom post types
- Familiarity with WooCommerce setup and customization is a plus
Design implementation
- Ability to work directly from Figma files and replicate designs with high accuracy — spacing, typography, colors, interactions
- Strong eye for detail; understands the difference between close enough and pixel-perfect
- Experience building responsive layouts that look and function correctly across all screen sizes
Performance and best practices
- Working knowledge of Core Web Vitals (LCP, FID, CLS) and how to optimize for them
- Experience with caching plugins (LiteSpeed, WP Rocket, W3 Total Cache), CDN setup, and image compression workflows
- Familiarity with Google PageSpeed Insights and GTmetrix — and knowing what to do with the results
- Clean, semantic HTML and CSS output — avoids plugin bloat and unnecessary scripts
- Basic SEO setup: meta tags, schema markup, sitemap configuration, and clean URL structures
Communication
- Strong written and spoken English — capable of handling client emails, feedback calls, and progress updates independently
- Clear communicator who asks the right questions before starting, not after delivery
- Able to explain technical decisions in plain language to non-technical stakeholders
- Comfortable working in structured project environments with defined timelines and deliverables
Big plus: Webflow experience
- Hands-on experience building production websites in Webflow — CMS collections, interactions, and responsive layouts
- Ability to migrate or rebuild WordPress sites in Webflow when required by the client
- Familiarity with Webflow's hosting and publishing workflow
- Candidates with strong Webflow skills will be prioritized for projects and growth opportunities within the team
Nice to have
- Experience with Git and version control workflows
- Knowledge of Local WP, Laragon, or Docker for local development
- Exposure to headless WordPress or REST API integrations
- Basic understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1)
- Prior experience working with international clients or remote-first teams
