WordPress Developer Internship (Unpaid & Remote)
Role & Responsibilities
- Assist in building, customizing, and launching WordPress sites, implement themes, child-themes, and plugins to spec.
- Convert UI/UX designs into pixel-perfect, responsive pages using HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript.
- Customize and extend themes/plugins via PHP and WordPress hooks (actions/filters); troubleshoot and resolve bugs.
- Integrate third-party services and APIs (REST, payment gateways, analytics) and support WooCommerce store setup.
- Perform site performance optimizations, accessibility checks, and basic on-page SEO improvements.
- Work with the team using Git workflows, maintain clear documentation, and participate in code reviews and testing.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- Hands-on familiarity with WordPress (themes, plugins) and basic PHP coding.
- Solid HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript knowledge; able to build responsive layouts.
- Experience with Git or other version-control tools and local development environments.
- Strong verbal and written communication; ability to follow briefs and receive feedback.
- Self-motivated, eager to learn, and available to work remotely from India with reliable internet.
Preferred
- Exposure to WooCommerce, Elementor/Gutenberg builders, or popular page-builder workflows.
- Familiarity with REST APIs, AJAX, and integrating third-party services (payment, CRM, analytics).
- Basic knowledge of site performance tuning, caching strategies, and on-page SEO best practices.
