Role Overview

Design, customize, and maintain WordPress websites that deliver seamless functionality, engaging user experiences, and strong performance across digital platforms. The WordPress Developer role focuses on building and maintaining client websites using WordPress. Responsibilities include developing custom themes and plugins, integrating APIs, and optimizing sites for speed, SEO, and security. This position requires strong technical expertise in PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, along with the ability to collaborate with designers, content teams, and clients. Key Responsibilities

Develop custom WordPress themes and plugins using PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Customize websites with tools such as Gutenberg, Elementor, and Advanced Custom Fields (ACF)
Integrate APIs including payment gateways and social media platforms
Optimize websites for performance, SEO, and security using caching and security plugins
Troubleshoot and debug WordPress issues to ensure smooth functionality
Collaborate with designers, content teams, and clients for project success
Ensure responsive design, accessibility, and cross‑browser compatibility
Document code, workflows, and processes for future reference

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (BCA, MCA, BSc Computer Science, B‑Tech in CS)
Minimum of 1 years of professional experience in WordPress development
Proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (jQuery, React optional)
Experience with custom/child themes, plugins, and WP‑CLI
Familiarity with SEO, caching tools (W3 Total Cache, WP Rocket), and security plugins (Wordfence)
Strong knowledge of responsive and accessible design principles
Experience with Git/GitHub for version control
Problem‑solving, communication, and client management skills
