While our core expertise is in Webflow, we also support clients who need custom WordPress builds, and we're looking for a skilled freelance WordPress Developer to join our extended team.
About the Role:
We're looking for a WordPress Developer with 2–3 years of hands-on experience to build, customize, and maintain WordPress websites for our clients. You'll work closely with our design and project management team to translate designs into fully functional, fast, and SEO-friendly WordPress sites, and to support ongoing maintenance, plugin integrations, and performance optimization for existing client websites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and customize WordPress themes and templates using PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Translate Figma/Adobe designs into pixel-perfect, fully responsive WordPress websites
- Build and customize plugins, or integrate third-party plugins, to extend site functionality
- Work with popular page builders (Elementor, WPBakery, Divi, etc.) as well as custom theme development
- Set up and configure custom post types, taxonomies, and ACF (Advanced Custom Fields) for flexible content management
- Optimize website speed, performance, and Core Web Vitals
- Implement on-page SEO best practices and ensure clean, semantic code
- Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, plugin conflicts, and theme/functionality issues
- Manage WordPress updates, backups, and basic security hardening
- Collaborate with designers and project managers to ensure timely, high-quality delivery
- Stay current with WordPress core updates, Gutenberg block development, and ecosystem best practices
Required Skills & Experience:
- 2–3 years of professional experience developing on WordPress
- Experience building custom themes from scratch and customizing existing ones
- Hands-on experience with ACF, custom post types, and taxonomies
- Familiarity with popular page builders (Elementor, Divi, WPBakery) and the WordPress block editor (Gutenberg)
- Working knowledge of WordPress hooks, filters, and the WordPress REST API
- Understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
- Experience with version control (Git)
- Ability to convert Figma/Adobe XD designs into functional websites with strong attention to detail
- Basic understanding of on-page SEO and website performance optimization
Good to Have:
- Experience with WooCommerce for e-commerce builds
- Familiarity with headless WordPress setups (WPGraphQL, Next.js)
- Experience with caching, CDN setup, and security plugins (Wordfence, Sucuri, etc.)
- Knowledge of staging environments and deployment workflows
- Prior experience working in an agency or client-facing freelance capacity
