Role Overview:
We are looking for a WordPress Developer Manager to lead our backend development team. The ideal candidate will own the website's architecture, ensure smooth operations, and make strategic tech decisions while mentoring developers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead backend development for CoinGape's WordPress-powered platforms.
- Architect and implement new features and functionalities.
- Ensure 100% uptime, troubleshoot, and resolve critical WordPress errors (fatal errors, upgrade failures, etc.) quickly.
- Oversee CMS management, cookies management, and third-party integrations.
- Work closely with front-end, marketing, and design teams.
- Monitor and improve website performance, scalability, SEO, and security.
- Decide on tech stack and cloud resource allocation (AWS, DigitalOcean, etc.).
- Manage, guide, and mentor a team of developers while conducting peer code reviews.
- Maintain Git management and CI/CD pipelines for streamlined deployments.
- Handle database optimization and server monitoring (New Relic preferred).
- Implement and manage security protocols: IP blocking, bot attacks, DDOS mitigation, firewalls, and Cloudflare handling.
- Optimize SEO-centric aspects: Core Web Vitals, page speed, search console error fixes, custom sitemaps, schema, hreflang subfolders.
- Manage login functionality, user profiles, and authentication systems.
- Develop and maintain APIs (REST, Postman testing, JSON, XML).
- Ensure platform stability for high-traffic websites (1M+ MAU) with 50k+ pages.
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong experience with WordPress backend development & PHP.
- Expertise in LAMP stack with deep knowledge of custom themes, plugins, caching, and upgrades.
- Hands-on knowledge of MySQL, REST APIs, JSON, XML, JavaScript.
- Proven experience in handling SEO optimization, security protocols, firewalls, and cloud deployments.
- Ability to architect and scale enterprise-level WordPress solutions.
- Experience with Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and collaborative code reviews.
- Leadership experience in managing and mentoring development teams.
