Job Description
We are seeking an experienced WLAN Developer to design, implement, and optimize WiFi features across 802.11 standards. The role involves working on MAC/PHY layer development, debugging wireless protocol issues, enhancing performance, and collaborating with crossfunctional teams to deliver robust WLAN solutions.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design and develop WLAN features across 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax standards.
- Implement MAC layer state machines, protocol handling, and feature enhancements.
- Work on WLAN driver/firmware development for Access Points or client chipsets.
- Debug WLAN connectivity, roaming, throughput, interoperability, and stability issues.
- Analyze logs and traces using tools such as Wireshark, Omnipeek, AirMagnet, Ekahau.
- Optimize RF behavior including channel utilization, SNR/RSSI handling, and rate adaptation.
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and QA teams to deliver endtoend solutions.
- Support test teams with issue reproduction, rootcause analysis, and fixes.
Required Skills
- Strong programming expertise in C/C++ and embedded systems development.
- Solid understanding of WLAN architecture, MAC/PHY concepts, and wireless protocols.
- Experience with WLAN driver (Linux/Windows) or firmware development.
- Hands-on exposure to debugging tools, packet capture, and performance analysis.
- Good understanding of TCP/IP networking, security (WPA2/WPA3), and RF fundamentals.
Nice to Have
- Experience with WiFi 6E, MUMIMO, OFDMA, Beamforming, or Mesh networking.
- Knowledge of coexistence (Bluetooth/WiFi/5G) and regulatory compliance.
- Familiarity with Python automation or CI/CD environments.
- Exposure to chipset platforms (Qualcomm, Broadcom, Intel, MediaTek).
- Certifications such as CWNA, CWSP, CWAP.
