Job Title: Wiring & Harness Designer
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Wiring & Harness Designer with a strong background in performing benchmarking, packaging studies on electrical/electronic components, and defining their locations in vehicles. The ideal candidate will possess CAD experience in wiring harness, wiring optimization studies, and drawing creation. They should also be capable of independently designing attachment schemes or brackets made from plastic or sheet metal.
Responsibilities
- Perform benchmarking and packaging studies on electrical/electronic components.
- Define component locations within vehicles.
- Conduct CAD-based wiring harness and wiring optimization studies.
- Create detailed drawings for wiring harness designs.
- Independently design attachment schemes and brackets for components.
- Collaborate with overseas program stakeholders and suppliers.
- Work effectively both independently and within a team.
Essential Skills
- 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in automotive wiring harness design.
- Proficiency in CATIA V5/3DX for Electrical Harness Design, Part Modelling, Surface Design, and 2D drawings.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle architecture, aggregate groups, and systems.
- Excellent communication skills for handling stakeholders and suppliers.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Teamcenter Engineering and Vismockup.
- Ability to design plastic or sheet metal brackets.
- Self-motivated, committed, and capable of working independently.
Work Environment
You will work in a dynamic environment that requires strong collaboration with overseas stakeholders and suppliers. The role involves the use of advanced CAD tools such as CATIA V5/3DX and Teamcenter Engineering.
