Job Description

A total of 8-years of experience in Microsoft Windows System Administration, Clustering, Active Directory
10+ years of relevant experience in Windows system admin, Active Directory (AD) related issues
Experience designing, implementing and maintaining solutions deployed on Azure Cloud
The L3 Role involves senior level troubleshooting / Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for areas including, but not limited to:
Active Directory (AD) related issues
DNS zone issues; Sites/Subnets review; Verify if AD issue is within scope identified by IT Risk team. If not, refer issue to IT Risk AD workgroup.
Microsoft (MS) Clustering issues
Verify issue is not due to non-Cluster aware software installations; troubleshoot heartbeat, quorum, cluster services, cluster resource issues. Engage, and work with, MS when needed.
Take over for L2 team for out of warranty servers where site involvement is needed to engage OEM or 3rd party hardware support team. Own/manage/track to repair.
Advanced server support
Own server issues outside of, or unresolvable by, L3 team skill sets
Provide general and routine technical support to a broad range of installation, patching, configuration, and updates to virtual infrastructure requiring the ability to research, analyze, and resolve problems effectively to meet established performance metrics.
Maintain documented (e.g. Disaster Recovery) procedures for OS Infrastructure. Collaborates and contributes with team members, software vendors, and other technical staff to develop, design, implement, and continuously improve systems.
Active coordination with team members and other groups to effectively perform basic Windows Server and administration support for daily operations. Follows procedures and guidelines to install, patch, configure, customize, troubleshoot, upgrade, integrate, and maintain systems, software, network and port configuration, host-based firewalls
Essential Skillsets Expert Knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2008/2012/2016 Administration: Install, Configure & manage.
Expert knowledge on Virtualization: VMWare, Microsoft System Center / HyperV Administration
Expert Knowledge on Microsoft troubleshooting skills and tools. Including OS Hardening and Vulnerability assessment.
Knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS and Troubleshooting.
Knowledge on TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Power shell scripting
Knowledge of AD group policies.
Backup Technologies L2 (Veeam, NetBackup, HP DP)
Anti-virus, Compliance / Patch management.
