Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Windows Build and Image Engineer to manage and maintain standardized Windows OS images used across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Windows operating systems, imaging tools, automation, and endpoint management solutions such as Microsoft Endpoint Manager Intune, or MDT.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, test, and maintain custom Windows OS images (Windows 10/11) for desktops, laptops, and virtual environments.
  • Integrate device drivers (PnP), software applications, and security patches into image builds.
  • Manage and optimize image deployment processes using tools like MDT, or DISM tools.
  • Maintain version control and documentation for all builds and deployment processes.
  • Experience in Microsoft Intune autopilot deployment, profile creation, remediation scripts, defender endpoint security.
  • Experience in patching OEM drivers using dell command utility.
  • Ensure images meet organizational security and compliance standards.
  • Troubleshoot image-related issues during deployment or post-deployment.
  • Collaborate with security, helpdesk, and application teams to ensure compatibility and user experience.
  • Automate build and deployment processes using PowerShell or other scripting languages.
  • Evaluate and test new OS updates, features, and third-party software for inclusion in standard images.
  • Maintain a structured UAT (User Acceptance Testing) process for new builds.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in building and deploying Windows OS images in a corporate environment.
  • Proficiency with imaging and deployment tools such as MDT, WDS, DISM, and Microsoft Intune.
  • Solid understanding of hardware configuration of models like Dell, Microsoft and HP.
  • Knowledge of hardware lifecycle management.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11), and Windows registry.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Batch).
  • Familiarity with BIOS/UEFI configuration and hardware compatibility during imaging.
  • Incident handlings using ITSM tool like ServiceNow.
  • Experience with managing application packaging and deployment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Zero Touch or Autopilot deployment.
  • Familiarity with compliance and endpoint hardening standards.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and consistency.
