Job Requirements
We are seeking an experienced External Consultant to maintain, support, and optimize our existing automation landscape built on a Chef solution.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned Windows system expert (SysAdmin level) with strong PowerShell scripting skills, deep troubleshooting capabilities, and solid experience working with Chef-based infrastructure. The consultant will collaborate with international teams and contribute to maintaining a stable, scalable, and secure automation environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance the existing Chef solution
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex Windows server issues
- Develop, maintain, and optimize PowerShell scripts
- Support configuration management workflows using Chef
- Analyze and improve infrastructure automation processes
- Customize and adapt Ruby-based Chef code where required
- Support and troubleshoot virtualized environments
- Collaborate with distributed, international teams
- Provide documentation and knowledge transfer where necessary
Required Qualification
- Extensive experience as a Windows Systems Administrator (Senior level)
- Advanced PowerShell scripting skills
- Strong expertise in Windows Server environments (administration, troubleshooting, performance tuning)
- Proven hands-on experience with Chef (Chef Infra, cookbooks, roles, environments)
- Strong experience with VMware (vSphere, ESXi, virtual machine management and troubleshooting)
- Ability to read, understand, and moderately customize Ruby code
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Experience working in enterprise-scale environments
- Excellent communication skills in English
Good To Have
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code best practices
- Experience in regulated or highly standardized IT environments
- Exposure to cloud environments (e.g., Azure or AWS)
