We are looking for an experienced PTC Windchill Senior Developer to design, develop, customize, integrate, and support enterprise PLM solutions using PTC Windchill.
The candidate should have strong hands-on experience with Windchill customization, Java/J2EE, Windchill APIs, workflows, OIRs, listeners, REST/OData services, data modeling, and PLM business processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and customize PTC Windchill applications based on business requirements.
- Perform Windchill configuration and customization using supported PTC APIs and frameworks.
- Develop Java-based customizations involving:
- WTPart
- WTDocument
- CAD Documents
- Change objects
- Workflow
- Lifecycle
- Team and role management
- Business rules
- Object Initialization Rules (OIR)
- Develop custom workflow robots, activities, expressions, and workflow utilities.
- Implement event listeners and server-side business logic.
- Customize Windchill UI components, actions, tables, data utilities, forms, and validators.
- Develop and consume Windchill REST Services (WRS), REST APIs, and OData. PTC's current WRS framework supports PTC domains as well as custom/extended domains. PPTC Support+1
- Build integrations between Windchill and external systems such as:
- SAP/ERP
- MES
- CRM
- CAD systems
- Middleware
- Enterprise applications
- Work with Windchill Product Management, Document Management, Change Management, CAD Document Management, and Workflow domains.
- Develop custom Windchill REST endpoints or extend existing PTC domains where required.
- Analyze production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
- Troubleshoot Java exceptions, workflow failures, performance problems, database issues, and integration failures.
- Participate in Windchill upgrades, migrations, patches, and deployments.
- Write unit/integration tests and participate in code reviews.
- Prepare technical design documents and development specifications.
- Follow PTC-supported customization practices to minimize upgrade and maintenance issues.
Required Technical Skills
- 5–10+ years of PTC Windchill development experience
- Strong Java/J2EE programming skills.
- Good knowledge of Windchill architecture and customization framework.
