Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Windchill Migration Consultant with strong hands-on expertise in Windchill Bulk Migrator (WBM) and Windchill data migration.
The consultant will be responsible for executing and supporting Windchill-to-Windchill and Non-Windchill-to-Windchill migration projects, including WBM setup, data extraction, normalization, validation, loading, troubleshooting, and migration utilities.
The role requires strong understanding of the Windchill database schema, migration frameworks, Linux environments, and data transformation tools.
Must-Have Skills
- 5+ years of relevant hands-on experience in Windchill data migration.
- Hands-on experience with WBM (Windchill Bulk Migrator) installation and configuration.
- Strong hands-on experience in the complete WBM migration lifecycle:
- Data Extraction
- Normalization
- Pre-Validation
- Data Loading
- Experience in Windchill-to-Windchill migrations.
- Experience in Non-Windchill-to-Windchill migrations.
- Strong understanding of Windchill Database Schema and its application in migration activities.
- Hands-on experience with data migration/transformation tools such as Pentaho or Talend.
- Experience working with Windchill OOTB Load from File framework.
- Good hands-on experience with Linux environments, including Linux commands and Shell scripting.
- Experience developing Java utilities for data extraction, transformation, and/or loading.
- Ability to independently troubleshoot migration issues and coordinate with technical teams.
Good-to-Have Skills
- Hands-on experience with WBM FF Framework for CAD migration.
- Experience handling migration from legacy/non-legacy enterprise systems into Windchill.
- Experience working with Windchill environments on Cloud.
- Exposure to AWS.
- Experience with migration automation and scripting.
- Strong understanding of Windchill data objects, relationships, and migration dependencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain WBM migration environments.
- Execute WBM-based data extraction, normalization, pre-validation, and loading activities.
- Support end-to-end Windchill data migration projects.
- Analyze source and target data structures and identify migration requirements.
- Develop and execute migration utilities using Java, Shell scripting, and other relevant tools.
- Perform data validation and troubleshoot migration failures/issues.
- Work with Windchill database schemas and migration data structures.
- Support migration testing, reconciliation, and defect resolution.
- Collaborate with Windchill developers, administrators, functional teams, and other technical stakeholders.
- Contribute to migration planning, documentation, and execution.
