Job Summary
The Welfare Officer is responsible for promoting employee well-being, maintaining harmonious employee relations, and ensuring compliance with labor welfare laws. The role focuses on employee support, welfare initiatives, grievance handling, and coordination with management to create a healthy and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Welfare & Well-being
- Plan and implement employee welfare programs and activities
- Address employee concerns related to health, safety, and well-being
- Support workers with personal, social, or workplace-related issues
Grievance Handling & Employee Relations
- Act as a liaison between employees and management
- Assist in resolving grievances and conflicts in a fair and timely manner
- Promote positive industrial relations and workplace harmony
Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with labor laws related to welfare (Factories Act, ESI, PF, etc.)
- Maintain statutory registers, records, and documentation
- Coordinate with government authorities and inspectors when required
Health, Safety & Working Conditions
- Monitor workplace safety, hygiene, and working conditions
- Coordinate health check-ups, safety training, and awareness programs
- Support safety committees and accident prevention initiatives
Training & Awareness
- Conduct welfare-related training and awareness sessions
- Educate employees on company policies, benefits, and welfare schemes
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain welfare records, case files, and reports
- Prepare periodic welfare and compliance reports for management
Skills & Competencies
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Empathy, counseling, and conflict-resolution abilities
- Basic knowledge of labor laws and welfare regulations
- Good organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to handle sensitive issues with confidentiality
Preferred Candidate Profile
- MSW (HR / Labor Welfare / Industrial Relations / Community Development)
- Willingness to interact with shop-floor employees
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
