About the Role

We are looking for a Shopify-first Web Developer who can take complete ownership of website projects at Clic.

Around 80% of the work will be focused on building, customising, optimising, and maintaining D2C e-commerce websites on Shopify. The remaining 20% will involve WordPress websites for non-commerce brands and projects.

This role is ideal for someone who understands not just development, but also the difference between a basic-looking website and a premium, modern, clean digital experience.

You will be the primary point of contact for all development work at the agency, so ownership, speed, problem-solving, and clear communication are extremely important.

What You'll Own

• Build and customise Shopify websites for D2C brands using themes, Liquid, sections, blocks, HTML, CSS, JS, and Shopify best practices.
• Customise Shopify websites without depending heavily on paid apps or plugins wherever possible.
• Build and maintain WordPress websites using themes, plugins, basic PHP customisation, ACF, and responsive front-end development.
• Set up important e-commerce requirements such as payment gateways, shipping partners, product pages, collections, checkout-related settings, and basic automation flows.
• Install and manage tracking pixels and conversion events for Meta, Google, analytics, and other marketing platforms.
• Super Important - Improve product pages of ecommerce websites, website journeys, and layouts with a conversion-first approach. Suggest practical ideas to improve PDPs(Product Display Pages), user experience which plays important role in ROAS, and overall website conversions. If you have a basic marketing understanding and knows how the ecommerce brands these days work on Product pages then it is a plus.
• Ensure websites look premium, clean, modern, and aligned with the brand's positioning.
• Handle website speed, mobile responsiveness, SEO basics, schema basics, security updates, and post-launch maintenance.
• Troubleshoot issues quickly and keep projects moving without unnecessary delays.
• Use AI tools smartly to improve speed, efficiency, and delivery timelines.
• Document tasks clearly and communicate with the internal team or clients when required.

Must-Have Skills

• 2–5 years of experience building websites.
• Strong understanding of Shopify themes, Liquid, HTML, CSS, responsive design, and basic JavaScript.
• Experience customising Shopify websites for D2C/e-commerce brands.
• Good understanding of product pages, collections, checkout flow, conversion tracking, and e-commerce user journeys.
• Working knowledge of WordPress theme and plugin customisation.
• Ability to create clean, premium, mobile-first websites with a strong eye for UI/UX.
• Basic understanding of Meta Pixel, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and conversion tracking.
• Ability to work fast, take ownership, and manage multiple agency projects without constant follow-ups.
• Clear written and spoken communication.
  

Good to Have

• Experience with subscriptions, loyalty, fulfilment, shipping, or marketing automation apps.
• WooCommerce experience.
• Basic knowledge of Core Web Vitals and site performance improvement.
• Understanding of CRO and how website changes impact conversions and ROAS.
• Experience using AI tools for faster development, debugging, design references, or workflow improvement.
