About Guide Point
Guide Point is a small private equity firm/family office that currently owns five firms (four of them in accounting) and is on track to reach ten by the end of the year. The firm plans to acquire 5–10 additional businesses annually, with a strong focus on operational optimization and long-term value creation.
A key part of the strategy is strengthening and modernizing the digital presence of portfolio companies—improving websites, enhancing SEO performance, and building scalable digital infrastructure as the portfolio grows. Guide Point operates in a fast-moving, ownership-minded environment and is seeking someone excited to grow with the firm long term.
About the Role
The Website Design & Development Associate will lead the full digital transformation of website initiatives across Guide Point's growing portfolio of accounting firms. This role focuses on auditing current websites, migrating from proprietary/vendor-locked platforms to a standardized WordPress baseline using Oxygen Builder, modern website design and development, comprehensive SEO strategy and implementation, and ongoing optimization efforts.
You will rebuild and optimize websites for existing portfolio companies (including those currently trapped on platforms like CPA Site Solutions and Accountingworks) and all future acquisitions. This includes creating modern, high-converting, fast-loading sites with full control, clean code, improved user experience, and strong messaging/positioning that differentiates each firm. The role is ideal for someone who is technically capable, design-oriented, and experienced in SEO—and who can operate independently in a remote environment. It's a chance to join early and play a foundational role as the portfolio expands, with clear long-term growth potential.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough website audits to identify platform limitations, design issues, performance gaps, and SEO opportunities across portfolio companies
- Migrate and fully rebuild websites from proprietary/vendor-locked platforms (such as CPA Site Solutions or Accountingworks) to WordPress using Oxygen Builder for clean code, fast load times, full customization, and technical SEO built in from day one
- Design, develop, and launch modern, professional, high-converting websites with updated layouts, excellent user experience, mobile optimization, and clear differentiation in messaging and positioning
- For existing WordPress sites, redesign and update layouts, structure, and visuals to align with current best practices
- Lead comprehensive SEO strategy and implementation, including technical SEO, on-page optimization, content optimization, localized service pages, and blog content (initial focus on tax preparation services, with ability to expand into advisory)
- Optimize Google Business Profiles, manage citations, and execute local SEO strategies to improve visibility in local search and the Google Maps pack
- Manage and improve all WordPress-based websites using Oxygen Builder
- Execute proper 301 redirects and migration best practices to preserve existing SEO value, domain authority, reviews, and crawler credibility
- Conduct ongoing website performance audits and implement improvements for speed, scalability, security, and conversion rates
- Collaborate with leadership to align website strategy with broader growth initiatives
- Continuously refine and enhance the digital presence as new portfolio companies are acquired
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in SEO and/or web design & development
- Strong working knowledge of WordPress development (required) and hands-on experience with Oxygen Builder (or similar advanced WordPress builders)
- Proven experience migrating and rebuilding websites from proprietary or vendor-locked platforms to WordPress
- Demonstrated hands-on SEO experience (required), including technical, on-page, content, and local SEO
- Experience with Google Business Profile optimization and citation management
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn new systems quickly
- Eye for modern design, user experience, and high-converting website layouts
- Self-motivated and comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, remote environment
- Interest in long-term growth within an expanding private equity/family office environment
